The Meinl Byzance Vintage 21″ Chris Coleman Signature Ride is an artist series cymbal designed with input from the much-celebrated player, Chris Coleman. Setting out to fuse the elements from Coleman’s preferred ride cymbals into a single, unique package, the result is this, the C Squared Signature Ride. The cymbal’s heavy profile offers massive presence, while its shape ensures sublime stick articulation. While the holes dotted around the edge add an interesting aesthetic, they’re there for a reason. They provide control for the wash and sustain that larger cymbals generate, further augmenting the definition Chris desired from this cymbal. The Ride’s bell is thick enough to cut through any mix – its hand-hammering gives it warm and earthy tones with plenty of musical punch. Combined with its intense sounds, the C Squared Ride’s raw, unlathed surface makes it a striking and remarkable addition to any drummer’s kit. Byzance Vintage Crafted with age in mind, the Vintage voice within the Byzance series has unique features that simulate the aging process of a cymbal to couple relic sounds with modern appeal. The Vintage line was born from the Sand Ride, a flagship cymbal developed with Meinl Cymbals artist, Benny Greb; now, it includes a wide array of cymbals that have helped to define the Meinl sound. Made in Turkey from B20 bronze and hand-hammered into shape. Sand models feature narrow blade lathing and a sandblasted finish, whereas Vintage Pure models are unlathed and raw.
